नई दिल्ली: केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने बैंकों को सलाह दी है कि वे ब्याज दरों को और किफायती बनाने के लिए कदम उठाएं। उन्होंने कहा कि मौजूदा बैंक ब्याज दरें कर्ज लेने वाले लोगों के लिए समस्या बन रही हैं। वित्त मंत्री सोमवार को भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के इंडिया बिज़नेस और इकनॉमिक कॉन्क्लेव में बोल रही थीं। उन्होंने इस दौरान कहा कि उद्योगों और कारोबारों के विस्तार के लिए किफायती ब्याज दरें आवश्यक हैं।
बैंक अपने मूल काम पर ध्यान दें
सीतारमण ने बैंकों को उनके मूल कार्य, यानी कर्ज देने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने की सलाह दी। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत की आर्थिक विकास दर को बनाए रखने के लिए आवश्यक है कि कर्ज की लागत कम हो। इसके साथ ही, उन्होंने वैश्विक और घरेलू आर्थिक चुनौतियों का जिक्र करते हुए भरोसा दिलाया कि सरकार इनसे निपटने के लिए पूरी तरह से तैयार है।
ब्याज दरें और किफायती होनी चाहिए
वित्त मंत्री ने कहा कि भारत के आर्थिक विकास के लिए यह जरूरी है कि ब्याज दरें सस्ती हों। जब उद्योग और व्यवसाय तेजी से आगे बढ़ें और क्षमता निर्माण हो, तभी आर्थिक प्रगति संभव है।
महंगाई और फूड प्राइस का जिक्र
सीतारमण ने देश में महंगाई, विशेषकर खाद्य वस्तुओं की कीमतों में उतार-चढ़ाव को स्वीकार किया। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार और भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक इस मुद्दे से अवगत हैं और इसे संतुलित करने की कोशिश की जा रही है।
ग्राहकों पर अनावश्यक बोझ न डालें
वित्त मंत्री ने बैंकों को यह भी सलाह दी कि वे ग्राहकों पर अनावश्यक इंश्योरेंस पॉलिसी थोपकर उन्हें बोझिल न करें। उन्होंने कहा कि बैंकों को अपनी मूल बैंकिंग गतिविधियों पर ध्यान केंद्रित करना चाहिए और ग्राहकों की जरूरतों को प्राथमिकता देनी चाहिए।
जानकारों का मानना है कि सीतारमण की यह टिप्पणी ग्राहकों का बैंकिंग सेक्टर में भरोसा बढ़ाने के लिहाज से महत्वपूर्ण है।

She also highlighted global and domestic economic challenges and reassured that the government is fully prepared to address these.
Interest Rates Must Be More Affordable
The Finance Minister stressed that for India’s economic development, interest rates need to be more affordable. She added that for industries and businesses to grow rapidly and build capacity, low-cost loans are crucial.
Acknowledgment of Inflation and Food Price Volatility
Sitharaman acknowledged the fluctuations in inflation, particularly in food prices. She assured that the government and the Reserve Bank of India are aware of the issue and working to balance the situation.
Do Not Burden Customers Unnecessarily
The Finance Minister also advised banks not to impose unnecessary insurance policies on customers, adding to their financial burden. She emphasized that banks should prioritize their core banking activities and focus on understanding and addressing the specific needs of their customers.
Experts believe that Sitharaman's remarks are significant in building public trust in the banking sector.
