आगामी विधानसभा चुनाव में झारखंड के बंगाली समाज की अनदेखी एवं उपेक्षा झारखंड के राजनीतिक दलों को भारी पड़ने वाली है। झारखंड के चौबीसों जिलों के सौ से अधिक बांग्ला संगठनों के संयुक्त फोरम, झारखंड बांग्ला भाषी उन्नयन समिति द्वारा आयोजित एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन में संगठन ने बताया कि राज्य गठन के बाद से पिछले चौबीस वर्षों में सत्ता एवं शासन द्वारा बांग्ला भाषा एवं बांग्ला संस्कृति को समाप्त करने का जो कूट-संरचना किया जा रहा है, उससे क्षुब्ध झारखंड का बंगाली समाज इस बार के विधानसभा चुनाव को ध्यान में रखते हुए पिछले दो वर्षों से झारखंड के चौबीसों जिलों के सभी बांग्ला भाषी संगठनों को एकजुट कर "झारखंड बांग्ला भाषी उन्नयन समिति" के बैनर तले शहर से लेकर गांव तक बांग्ला भाषियों को संगठित करने का कार्य कर रहा है।
इसकी शुरुआत 19 मार्च 2022 को जमशेदपुर के गोपाल मैदान में लाखों की संख्या में जुटे बांग्ला भाषियों से खचाखच भरे बंग उत्सव से हुई। इस बंग उत्सव से बंगाली समाज ने स्पष्ट राजनीतिक संदेश दिया कि राज्य के बांग्ला भाषी समाज की भावनाओं के साथ खिलवाड़ करने एवं समाज की अनदेखी करने वाली ताकतों को सतर्क कर दिया गया है। यह स्पष्ट कर दिया गया है कि झारखंड का बंगाली समाज अब अपनी भाषा एवं संस्कृति का अपमान बर्दाश्त नहीं करेगा और सदन से सड़क पर उतरकर आंदोलन किया जाएगा।
उसी क्रम में रांची में बंग सम्मेलन, फिर बांग्ला सांस्कृतिक मेला का आयोजन, रामगढ़ में झारखंड बंगाली समिति का राज्य अधिवेशन, दुमका में बांग्ला भाषा पर सेमिनार, सभी चौबीस जिलों के उपायुक्त के माध्यम से मुख्यमंत्री को ज्ञापन, 11 दिसंबर 2023 को रांची में विशाल प्रदर्शन कर राजभवन के समक्ष धरना एवं राज्यपाल महोदय को ज्ञापन समर्पण, और सितंबर 2024 में सभी उपायुक्त कार्यालयों के समक्ष महाधारणा आयोजित कर मुख्यमंत्री के नाम ज्ञापन समर्पण कर आंदोलन को गति देने का कार्य किया गया।
इस बीच झारखंड के सभी राजनीतिक दलों के प्रदेश अध्यक्षों को पत्र लिखकर राज्य के बांग्ला भाषी समाज की भावनाओं को ध्यान में रखते हुए आगामी विधानसभा चुनाव में बांग्ला बहुल इलाकों में बांग्ला भाषियों को टिकट देने की मांग की गई, जिससे बांग्ला भाषी समाज का उचित प्रतिनिधित्व हो सके। परंतु राज्य के किसी भी राजनीतिक दल ने इस पर अभी तक कोई सार्थक कदम नहीं उठाया है। झारखंड की कुल आबादी का 42 प्रतिशत, अर्थात एक करोड़ तीस लाख लोग बांग्ला भाषी हैं, जो राज्य में निर्णायक भूमिका निभाते हैं। इसलिए इस एक करोड़ तीस लाख बांग्ला भाषियों की अनदेखी करने की कोशिश जो भी राजनीतिक दल करेगा, उसे इसके परिणाम भुगतने के लिए तैयार रहना होगा, क्योंकि इस बार बंगाली समाज पूरी तैयारी कर चुका है, और वे अब चुप नहीं बैठेंगे।
आगामी दिनों में समिति की कोर कमेटी की बैठक आयोजित कर आगामी विधानसभा चुनाव में बांग्ला समुदाय अपनी अगली रणनीति तैयार करेगा।
In the upcoming assembly elections, the neglect and disregard for the Bengali community in Jharkhand will be costly for the political parties of the state. In a press conference organized by the joint forum of over a hundred Bengali organizations from all twenty-four districts of Jharkhand, the Jharkhand Bengali Language Development Committee stated that since the formation of the state, there has been a systematic effort by the power and administration to eliminate the Bengali language and culture over the past twenty-four years. The Bengali community of Jharkhand, aggrieved by this, has been working for the past two years to unite all Bengali-speaking organizations in all twenty-four districts under the banner of the "Jharkhand Bengali Language Development Committee" in preparation for this assembly election.
This initiative began with the Bengali festival on March 19, 2022, at Gopal Maidan in Jamshedpur, which was attended by millions of Bengali speakers. This festival sent a clear political message from the Bengali community, alerting the forces that trifle with the sentiments of the Bengali-speaking population of the state and ignore their needs. It has been made clear that the Bengali community of Jharkhand will no longer tolerate the humiliation of its language and culture, and will take to the streets to protest if necessary.
In this context, a Bengali conference was held in Ranchi, followed by a Bengali cultural fair, the state conference of the Jharkhand Bengali Committee in Ramgarh, a seminar on the Bengali language in Dumka, and memorandums submitted to the Chief Minister through all district commissioners. A massive demonstration is planned for December 11, 2023, in Ranchi, where a sit-in will be staged in front of the Raj Bhavan, and a memorandum will be submitted to the Governor. In September 2024, a major sit-in will be organized in front of all district commissioner offices, followed by a memorandum to the Chief Minister to intensify the movement.
In the meantime, letters have been sent to the state presidents of all political parties requesting that, considering the sentiments of the Bengali-speaking community, tickets be allocated to Bengali speakers in Bengali-dominant areas in the upcoming assembly elections to ensure appropriate representation. However, no political party in the state has taken any meaningful action in response to this request. Bengali speakers constitute 42 percent of the total population of Jharkhand, which is approximately 13 million people, playing a decisive role in the state. Therefore, any political party that attempts to ignore these 13 million Bengali speakers must be prepared to face the consequences, as this time the Bengali community is fully prepared and will not remain silent.
In the coming days, the core committee of the Jharkhand Bengali Language Development Committee will convene to prepare the next strategy for the Bengali community for the upcoming assembly elections.
