देवघर के बाबा बैद्यनाथ मंदिर में महाशिवरात्रि की तैयारी शुरू हो गयी है. 26 फरवरी को महाशिवरात्रि मनाया जायेगा. इससे पहले परंपरा के अनुसार, बाबा मंदिर व पार्वती मंदिर समेत मंदिर परिसर में स्थित सभी मंदिरों के शिखर पर लगाये गये पंचशूलों को उतारा जायेगा. महाशिवरात्रि के एक दिन पहले बाबा भोलेनाथ और माता पार्वती के मंदिर से पंचशूल उतारे जायेंगे. उतारे गये पंचशूलों की सफाई के बाद इसे पुन: मंदिरों के शिखर पर विशेष पूजा के बाद लगाया जायेगा. बाबा मंदिर इस्टेट पुरोहित श्रीनाथ पंडित ने मंदिरों से पंचशूल को नीचे उतारने के लिए तिथि जारी कर दी है.
17 फरवरी को श्री गणेश मंदिर से उतारा जायेगा पंचशूल
पंडित जी के द्वारा जारी तिथि के अनुसार, श्री गणेश मंदिर से पंचशूल उतारने का शुभ मुहूर्त सोमवार 17 फरवरी को फाल्गुन मास पंचमी तिथि से प्रारंभ होगा. उसके बाद क्रमशः सभी मंदिरों से पंचशूल उतारे जायेंगे. बाबा बैद्यनाथ और माता पार्वती मंदिर से पंचशूल उतारने का शुभ मुहूर्त 24 फरवरी फाल्गुन मास कृष्ण पक्ष एकादशी तिथि सोमवार को है.
25 फरवरी को मंदिरों के शिखर पर स्थापित किये जायेंगे पंचशूल
सभी पंचशूल को उतारने के बाद इनकी सफाई की जायेगी. विशेष पूजा के बाद फिर से मंदिरों के शिखर पर पंचशूलों को 25 फरवरी को फाल्गुन कृष्ण पक्ष, द्वादशी तिथि पर स्थापित किया जायेगा. वहीं महाशिवरात्रि की चतुष्प्रहर पूजा 26 फरवरी को फाल्गुन मास कृष्ण पक्ष तिथि चतुर्दशी की रात चतुष्प्रहर पूजा होगी. इस दिन बाबा की शृंगार पूजा नहीं की जायेगी.

पंचशूल उतारने के बाद बाबा का नहीं चढ़ेगा गठबंधन
परंपरा के अनुसार, 24 फरवरी को दोपहर बाद बाबा बैद्यनाथ और माता पार्वती के शिखर पर लगे पंचशूल को साफ करने और विशेष पूजा के उद्देश्य के लिए खोला जायेगा. पंचशूल खोलने के पहले दोनों मंदिरों के बीच बंधे गठबंधन को खोला जायेगा. गठबंधन खोलने के बाद दोनों मंदिरों के शिखर से एक साथ पंचशूल को उतारा जायेगा. नीचे लाने के बाद दोनों पंचशूलों का मिलन कराने की परंपरा निभायी जायेगी. इस क्षण को देखने के लिए हर साल भारी संख्या में श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ उमड़ पड़त है
पंचशूलों की होगी विशेष पूजा
बाबा भोलेनाथ, मां पार्वती सहित सभी देवी-देवताओं के मंदिरों से खोले गये पंचशूल की सफाई के बाद सरदार पंडा गद्दी घर के बरामदे पर 25 फरवरी को विशेष पूजा होगी. यह पूजा दिन के करीब साढ़े नौ बजे से प्रारंभ होगी. पूजा तांत्रिक विधि से होगी. इस पूजन में आचार्य के तौर पर गुलाब पंडित और पुजारी स्वयं सरदार पंडा श्रीश्री गुलाब नंद ओझा होंगे. करीब 2 घंटे तक चलने वाली पूजा का समापन आरती के साथ होगा. उसके बाद पंचशूल लगाने की परंपरा गणेश मंदिर से प्रारंभ होगी.

सरदार पंडा करेंगे गठबंधन
परंपरा के अनुसार, इस दिन सभी मंदिरों के शिखर पर पंचशूल की स्थापना के बाद बाबा भोलेनाथ और मां पार्वती मंदिर का पुन: गठबंधन होगा. इस परंपरा की शुरुआत सरदार पंडा श्रीश्री गुलाब नंद ओझा करेंगे. उसके बाद आम भक्त भी गठबंधन चढ़ा

Preparations for Mahashivratri have begun in Baba Baidyanath Mandir of Deoghar. Mahashivratri will be celebrated on 26th February. Before this, as per tradition, Panchshools installed on the peak of all the temples located in the temple premises including Baba Mandir and Parvati Mandir will be taken down. Panchshool will be taken down from the temple of Baba Bholenath and Mata Parvati a day before Mahashivratri. After cleaning the Panchshools removed, it will be re-installed on the peak of the temples after special prayers. Baba Mandir Estate priest Shrinath Pandit has released the date for taking down Panchshool from the temples.
Panchshool will be removed from Shri Ganesh temple on 17th February
According to the date released by Pandit ji, the auspicious time for removing Panchshool from Shri Ganesh temple will start from Falgun month Panchami Tithi on Monday, 17th February. After that Panchshool will be removed from all the temples gradually. The auspicious time for removing Panchshool from Baba Baidyanath and Mata Parvati temple is on Monday, 24th February Falgun month Krishna Paksha Ekadashi Tithi.
Panchshool will be installed on the top of the temples on 25th February
After removing all the Panchshool, they will be cleaned. After special worship, Panchshool will be installed again on the top of the temples on 25th February, Falgun Krishna Paksha, Dwadashi Tithi. Chatushprahar Puja of Mahashivratri will be done on 26th February, Chatushprahar Puja of Falgun month Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi night. Baba's Shringar Puja will not be done on this day.
After removing the Panchshool, Baba's Gandh will not be offered
According to the tradition, on 24 February, after noon, the Panchshool on the peak of Baba Baidyanath and Mata Parvati will be opened for cleaning and for the purpose of special worship. Before opening the Panchshool, the Gandh tied between the two temples will be opened. After opening the Gandh, the Panchshool will be taken down from the peak of both the temples together. After bringing it down, the tradition of uniting the two Panchshools will be followed. Every year, a huge crowd of devotees gathers to see this moment.
Special worship of Panchshool will be done
After cleaning the Panchshool taken out from the temples of all the deities including Baba Bholenath, Maa Parvati, a special worship will be done on 25 February on the verandah of Sardar Panda Gaddi Ghar. This worship will start at around 9:30 in the morning. The worship will be done according to the Tantric method. In this worship, Gulab Pandit will be the Acharya and the priest himself will be Sardar Panda Shri Shri Gulab Nand Ojha. The puja which will last for about 2 hours will end with Aarti. After that the tradition of placing Panchshool will start from Ganesh temple.
Sardar Panda will do the alliance
According to the tradition, on this day, after the installation of Panchshool on the peak of all the temples, Baba Bholenath and Maa Parvati temple will be re-aligned. This tradition will be started by Sardar Panda Shri Shri Gulab Nand Ojha. After that common devotees will also be able to offer alliance.
