यह कदम पिछले कुछ महीनों में पंजाब सरकार द्वारा चलाए गए अश्लीलता विरोधी अभियानों का हिस्सा है.पाकिस्तान के पंजाब प्रांत की सरकार ने अश्लीलता, अनैतिकता और अभद्रता को बढ़ावा देने वाले डांसर्स और कलाकारों पर आजीवन प्रतिबंध लगाने की घोषणा की है. पंजाब की सूचना एवं संस्कृति मंत्री आजमा बुखारी ने सोमवार को इस फैसले की जानकारी देते हुए कहा कि थिएटर में अश्लील प्रदर्शन के खिलाफ सख्त कदम उठाए जाएंगे. साथ ही, ऐसे थिएटरों के लाइसेंस भी रद्द कर दिए जाएंगे, जो इस तरह की गतिविधियों को बढ़ावा देंगे.
मंत्री ने बताया कि सभी थिएटर मालिकों से शपथपत्र लिया गया है, जिसमें यह सुनिश्चित किया गया है कि वे अपने थिएटर में अश्लील या अनैतिक प्रदर्शन नहीं होने देंगे. अगर ऐसा होता है, तो उनके थिएटर के लाइसेंस को तुरंत रद्द कर दिया जाएगा. उन्होंने कहा कि थिएटर में ऐसे नाटक प्रस्तुत किए जाने चाहिए, जिन्हें लोग परिवार के साथ देख सकें. मुख्यमंत्री मरियम नवाज के नेतृत्व में अश्लीलता के खिलाफ यह अभियान तेज किया गया है.

साथ ही, पंजाब सरकार ने पतंगबाजी पर भी सख्त पाबंदी लगा दी है. नए कानून के तहत पतंग उड़ाने को गैर-जमानती अपराध की श्रेणी में रखा गया है. इस कानून का उल्लंघन करने वालों को 3 से 7 साल की जेल हो सकती है. सरकार का कहना है कि ये कदम पंजाब प्रांत में सामाजिक और सांस्कृतिक सुधारों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए उठाए गए हैं.
Ban on Dancers and Artists in Punjab: Know the Reason
This step is part of the anti-obscenity campaigns launched by the Punjab government in the past few months.The government of Pakistan’s Punjab province has announced a lifetime ban on dancers and artists who promote obscenity, immorality, and vulgarity. Punjab's Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bukhari, announced this decision on Monday, stating that strict action will be taken against obscene performances in theaters. Additionally, licenses of theaters promoting such activities will be revoked.
The minister further stated that all theater owners have been required to submit affidavits, ensuring that no obscene or immoral performances will take place in their theaters. If such performances occur, the theater’s license will be immediately canceled. She emphasized that theaters should showcase plays that families can watch together. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, this campaign against obscenity has been intensified.

This decision is part of the anti-obscenity campaigns undertaken by the Punjab government in recent months. During this period, some dancers were temporarily barred from performing in theaters. The government also amended the 1876 Dramatic Performances Act to make it stricter. Under these amendments, matters related to theatrical performances were shifted from the Home Department to the Information and Culture Department.
Additionally, the Punjab government has imposed a strict ban on kite flying. Under the new law, kite flying has been classified as a non-bailable offense. Violators of this law could face 3 to 7 years in prison. The government states that these measures have been taken to promote social and cultural reforms in the Punjab province.
