हजारीबाग के पूर्व एसडीओ अशोक कुमार को पुलिस ने रांची से किया गिरफ्तार

रांची:  हजारीबाग के पूर्व एसडीओ अशोक कुमार को पुलिस ने रांची से गिरफ्तार किया है. हजारीबाग पुलिस ने पत्नी को जलाने के आरोप में रविवार की देर शाम जगन्नाथपुर थाना क्षेत्र से एसडीओ को गिरफ्तार किया है. वह लंबे समय फरार चल रहे थे.गंभीर रूप से झुलस गयी थीं एसडीओ की पत्नी

गौरतलब है कि 26 दिसंबर 2024 को तत्कालीन सदर एसडीओ अशोक कुमार की पत्नी अनिता देवी गंभीर रूप से झुलस गयी थीं. उनका इलाज रांची के देवकमल अस्पताल में चल रहा था, जहां उनकी मौत हो गयी.

जांच के लिए किया गया था एसआईटी का गठन

बता दें कि अनीता देवी के निधन के बाद उनके भाई राजू कुमार गुप्ता ने लोहसिंघना थाने में बहन के ससुराल वालों के खिलाफ एफआईआर दर्ज कराया था, जिसमें आरोप लगाया गया था कि उनके जलने की घटना में अशोक कुमार और उनके परिवार के सदस्य शामिल थे. इस मामले की जांच के लिए एसआईटी का गठन किया गया है. साथ ही टीम को मामले की जांच करने और छापेमारी अभियान चलाकर अभियुक्त को गिरफ्तार करने का आदेश दिया गया था.

एक दिन पहले पूर्व एसडीओ के पिता को पुलिस ने किया था गिरफ्तार 

बता दें कि हजारीबाग सदर के पूर्व एसडीओ अशोक कुमार के पिता दुर्योधन साव को पुलिस ने एक दिन पहले गिरफ्तार किया था. पूर्व एसडीओ की पत्नी को जलाकर मारने के आरोप में पूर्व एसडीओ के पिता भी नामजद अभियुक्त हैं.

सरकारी कार्यालयों में दे रहे थे छुट्टी के लिए आवेदन

जानकारी के मुताबिक, पूर्व एसडीएम अशोक कुमार अब भी सरकारी कार्यालयों में छुट्टी के लिए आवेदन दे रहे थे. इस संबंध में ताजा मामला 25 जनवरी को सामने आया था, जब उन्होंने कार्मिक विभाग में इलाज के लिए 26 जनवरी से 26 मार्च तक अवकाश मांगा. इसमें उन्होंने यह भी उल्लेख किया कि पहले उन्होंने पत्नी के श्राद्धकर्म और इलाज के लिए भी अवकाश लिया था।

SDO’s Wife Had Suffered Severe Burns

It is noteworthy that on December 26, 2024, the then Sadar SDO Ashok Kumar’s wife, Anita Devi, suffered severe burns. She was undergoing treatment at Devkamal Hospital in Ranchi, where she later passed away.

SIT Was Formed for Investigation

Following Anita Devi’s demise, her brother, Raju Kumar Gupta, filed an FIR at Lohsinghna police station against her in-laws, alleging that Ashok Kumar and his family members were involved in the incident. An SIT was formed to investigate the matter, with orders to probe the case and conduct raids to arrest the accused.

SDO’s Father Was Arrested a Day Earlier

A day before Ashok Kumar’s arrest, his father, Duryodhan Sahu, was also taken into custody by the police. He was named as an accused in the case related to the burning and death of the former SDO’s wife.

Applying for Leave in Government Offices

According to reports, former SDO Ashok Kumar was still submitting leave applications in government offices. The latest instance surfaced on January 25, when he applied for medical leave from January 26 to March 26 in the Personnel Department. In his application, he mentioned that he had previously taken leave for his wife’s last rites and medical treatment.
