बड़ा गुनाह की मिली बड़ी सजा, म’रते दम तक कटेगी जेल में

 लेडी जूनियर डॉक्टर के गुनहगार संजय राय की मरते दम तक जेल में जिंदगी कटेगी। वहीं, उसे 50 हजार रुपये का जुर्माना भी देना होगा। कोर्ट ने अपने फैसले में कहा कि मामला दुर्लभ से दुर्लभतम श्रेणी में नहीं आता है, जिससे दोषी को मृत्यु दंड की सजा दी जा सके।

यह सजा उसे कोलकाता के सियालदह के अतिरिक्त जिला एवं सत्र न्यायाधीश अनीबार्न दास की अदालत ने सुनाई। संजय राय पर इल्जाम है कि उसने आरजी कर अस्पताल में वहां की जूनियर डॉक्टर की रेप कर नृशंस हत्या कर दी थी। इस बीच अदालत के फैसले से नाखुश पश्चिम बंगाल की CM ममता बनर्जी ने कहा कि वे चाहती थी कि गुनहगार को फांसी की सजा मिले, पर कोलकाता पुलिस से केस छीन कर जर्बदस्ती CBI को सौंप दिया गया। अगर यह केस कोलकाता पुलिस के हाथ में होता तो संजय राय को मौत की सजा कंफर्म मिलती।

"Severe Punishment for a Heinous Crime: Life Imprisonment"

Sanjay Rai, the culprit in the case of the junior lady doctor, will spend the rest of his life in prison. Additionally, he has been fined ₹50,000. The court, in its verdict, stated that the case does not fall under the rarest of rare categories, which would warrant the death penalty. This sentence was pronounced by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Anibarn Das, in the Sealdah court, Kolkata.

Sanjay Rai was accused of brutally raping and murdering a junior doctor at the RG Kar Hospital. Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, dissatisfied with the court's decision, expressed her desire for the culprit to receive the death penalty. She criticized the case being forcibly transferred from Kolkata Police to the CBI. She remarked that if Kolkata Police had handled the case, Sanjay Rai would have certainly been sentenced to death.
