जिले के गम्हरिया थाना क्षेत्र के जगन्नाथपुर रोड नंबर 12 के रहने वाले पत्रकार मनीष कुमार को जान से मारने की धमकी दी जा रही है. इसके लिए उन्होंने थाना प्रभारी को पत्र लिखकर शिकायत की है.
उन्होंने बताया है कि वे समाज में चल रहे अवैध गतिविधियों और अनियमितताओं पर खबरें बनाते है. हाल ही उन्होंने जिले में संचालित अवैध ईंट भट्ठे के खिलाफ एक विस्तृत रिर्पोट तैयारी की थी, जिसमें कारोबारी महादेवा नायक नामक व्यक्ति के अवैध ईंट भट्ठे का भी उल्लेख था. रिपोर्ट में जीपीएस फोटो सहित तथ्य पेश किये गये थे.
इसी मामले को लेकर महादेव नायक ने उन्हें 20- 25 लोगों के साथ घर आकर उठा लेने की धमकी दी थी. इसके पश्चात 14 जनवरी की शाम +17722916609 नंबर से कॉल कर जान से मारने की धमकी दी गयी. इसमें पत्रकार और उनका परिवार डरा है. उन्होंने कहा है कि जान से मारने की धमकी पत्रकारिता के स्वतंत्र अधिकार का हनन है. इस संबंध में उक्त व्यक्ति के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई करने की मांग की है.
Journalist getting death threats from illegal brick kiln businessman, seeks protection from police
Journalist Manish Kumar, resident of Jagannathpur Road No. 12 of Gamharia police station area of Seraikela district, is being threatened with death. For this, he has written a letter to the police station in-charge and complained. He has told that he reports on illegal activities and irregularities going on in the society. Recently, he had prepared a detailed report against illegal brick kilns operating in the district, in which the illegal brick kiln of a businessman named Mahadeva Nayak was also mentioned. Facts including GPS photos were presented in the report.
Regarding this matter, Mahadev Nayak had threatened to come to his house with 20-25 people and pick him up. After this, on the evening of January 14, a call was made from the number +17722916609 and he was threatened with death. The journalist and his family are scared in this. He has said that the threat to kill is a violation of the right to freedom of journalism. In this regard, demand has been made to take strict action against the said person.
